Story

From August 1–31, I’ll be taking on my own Crossing to support LifeFlight of Maine—this year by biking and running across the miles. This challenge represents the effort, persistence, and obstacles involved in delivering critical care to Maine’s island and rural communities, where help isn’t always close, but it’s always needed.

LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization and the state’s only emergency medical helicopter service. With three helicopters, a fixed-wing airplane, and ground ambulances, LifeFlight delivers ICU-level care directly to patients when minutes truly matter. Since its founding, LifeFlight has served more than 42,000 patients from every corner of the state—one life at a time.

As someone who lives, works, and recreates in Maine, I know how vital this service is. LifeFlight is a critical link in the chain of survival, connecting patients to the care they need when local resources aren’t enough. It’s reassuring to know that LifeFlight is there—for me, for my family and friends, and for anyone who may face the unthinkable.

I’m proud to make this crossing in support of such an essential mission. If you’re able, please consider supporting my efforts by clicking the Donate button. Any amount makes a meaningful difference and helps ensure LifeFlight crews are ready to respond when they’re needed most.

Thank you for supporting my crossing—and more importantly, for supporting LifeFlight of Maine and the lifesaving care they provide every day.
