This August I will be biking, running, and swimming to raise money for LifeFlight of Maine!
LifeFlight is the only flight medical organization in Maine, and provides critical care and transport to the sickest patients all over the state. No one wakes up thinking today is the day they'll need LifeFlight's services. But when LifeFlight receives the call, they show up with professionalism, kindness, and clinical excellence to give every patient their best possible outcome.
This summer, I've had the privilege of joining LifeFlight crews in the air and on the ground to learn more about the challenges of flight medicine. I know first hand that LifeFlight crews go above and beyond the standard of care in everything they do. Whether delivering otherwise inaccessible interventions, or simply providing a worried family comfort, their services are essential. Also, helicopters are awesome and everyone looks way cooler in a flight suit.
